Drake Gave A Surprise Performance At The Weeknd's London Show & We Love Their Bromance

Drake performance three songs at The Weeknd's sold out London show...

The Weeknd has just completed his row of sold-out shows in London and we're seriously considering packing up and going on the rest of the tour with him.

Last night (8th March) at London's O2 arena our Starboy took to the stage to wow crowds with his epic performance, and to treat us to a REALLY special guest.

To get the crowds at the London venue warmed up, American R&B artist Bryson Tiller took to the stage and showed us what he's capable of.

You'll know him from his various collaborations with DJ Khaled, Chris Brown and Travis Scott, as well as his critically acclaimed 2015 album 'T R A P S O U L'.

Tiller performed an array of his biggest tracks with our highlights being ‘Exchange’, ‘Been That Way’ and ‘Don’t’. The crowd were SO into his performance that you might have mistaken him for the headliner. We think it’s fair to say that his show was lit AF.

Next up was the main man himself, Abel Tesfaye, more commonly know as The Weeknd. Here at MTV we've been in the XO crew since day one so it's truly humbling to see someone who has worked so hard to get where he is really shining on a stage as big as that in The O2.

The show was fairly minimal in the way that he didn't have any backing dancers or fancy stage props, it was just him and agiant moving light fixture that changed formation on each track - you really had to see it to believe how magical it was.

He played a set that started with tracks from his new album 'STARBOY' before taking us down memory lane with hits spreading across his (pretty impressive) back catalogue.

Show highlights came in the form of ‘Often’, ‘I Feel It Coming’ and ‘False Alarm’, with the latter going OFF in the live setting. Also, because he clearly wanted to treat his fans to the show of their life, he brought his protege NAV to the stage to perform and we’re already obsessed with him.

The thing that made this night extra special was, of course, the fact that Abel brought out his long time collaborator and fellow Canadian, Drake. Considering these two are both touring in Europe at the moment, it just makes sense for them to share the love at each other’s shows - especially as The Weeknd joined Drake onstage at his show two weeks ago in Germany.

After singing his verse of ‘Crew Love’, The Weeknd brought Drake out onto the stage where he performed ‘Fake Love’, ‘Energy’ and ‘Jumpman’ leaving fans in complete shock.

On top of giving the crowd a surprise performance he also gushed over The Weeknd and things got pretty emosh. He said: “The first time I ever heard this guy right here, it was a rainy night in Toronto, Canada. My boy came and picked me up he played me ‘What You Need’ after that we met up at the studio and I heard 'House Of Balloons' which is in my top five albums of all time.”

He continued: “And since then my brother has gone on to become the biggest and I want you to make some mother-f**king noise for The Weeknd. And I’m gonna let you know OVOXO forever, it doesn’t matter where we are.” Before he left the stage he gave The Weeknd the biggest bear hug we’ve ever seen and if that isn’t total bromance, we don’t know what is.

“OVOXO forever”
