Jack White Pleads Not Guilty
Jack White has pleaded not guilty to the charge of aggravated assault.
The White Stripes frontman, who was hit with the charge after he got in a fight with Von Blondies vocalist Jason Stollsteimer at a gig last month, must now stand trial in Detroit on March 9.
Stollsteimer claims that in the fracas at the Detroit Magic Stick venue, White attacked him and punched him seven times in the face. Police say that the Von Blondies member was left with a bruised and swollen eye and a bleeding nose.
Jack White, however, admits to striking Stollsteimer in the face, but maintains that he was only acting in self-defence.
If found guilty of the aggravated assault charge, Jack White faces a maximum sentence of a year behind bars.
Meanwhile, The White Stripes are nominated for three Grammys.
