Greeting all the "Candy Cane Children in the land" The White Stripes' website today announced details of their spanking new album - 'Icky Thump.'

In a typically quirky statement the pair didn't reveal much beyond the fact that the album is "musical in nature" and that "many of your favourite White Stripes type songs may not be your favourite (pronounced favaright) White Stripes songs for long."

Tracks include 'Catch Hell Blues,' 'Little Cream Soda' and 'You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told.)'

Though no release date has yet been confirmed, they say they're doing their best to release the album "as soon as is corporately possible."

And since the whole thing took just three weeks to record (which is longer than any of the Stripes' other five albums) we're hoping the date won't be too long away
