50 Cent Talks New Music With Dr Dre And Alicia Keys And Wanting To Work With Frank Ocean
50 cent recently popped down to London to promote his new headphones, and in which time he also promoted his new material. The rapper has released a hefty collection thus far this year; Fiddy spoke to Digital Spy about it, saying: "I've released three albums' worth of material in the last two months. It was ‘The Big 10’ which was celebrating the ten-year anniversary of my first mixtape…
"’The Lost Tape’ followed that, and then I released ‘Murder By Numbers’. For me, the next wave of music won't be out until November."
The “next wave” will be his forthcoming studio album entitled ‘Street King Immortal’; 50 said that “there's a difference in styles” when it comes to his mixtapes and his albums.
His first single is called ‘New Day’ and will feature Dr Dre and Alicia Keys and will be released on July 17. “I'm excited about this project. It took a lot longer than it would have had to take as far as I'm concerned creatively... it was a headache, but it worked itself out."
50 also spoke about his musical peers, admitting he would like to work with Rihanna and Frank Ocean. He said: "I'd want to work with Frank Ocean. It's just content now... You know what I'm saying? When you did 'Novocane' it wasn't a love record. It was dope, just the music, the content.
"A lot of times people in the RnB cling to love. I get really excited when they make really strong efforts that don't actually have love involved, or relationship-based content."
