Amy Winehouse Foundation Marks First Year
The Amy Winehouse Foundation was set up by her loving father Mitch shortly after her passing on July 23, 2011. The foundation was set up with the intention of helping young people who suffered from disadvantages, such as homelessness, mental illness and substance abuse issues…
Now, on what would have been Amy’s 29th birthday, the foundation are also marking their first year anniversary. According to Digital Spy, so far, the charity has pledged £232,000, with the hopes of donating half a million by the end of this year.
There will be a birthday bash on September 14, her actual birthday, which will include a tribute act and an auction in the Brick Lane venue. It has also been said that there will be a line-up of public events taking place next year to mark what would have been the singers 30th birthday.
