Angel Haze Explains Why Honesty On Tracks Like 'cleaning Out My Closet' Is So Important
When our team at The Wrap Up had a chat with Angel Haze a couple of weeks back, we asked the rapper if she felt her lyrics thus far had been too ‘deep’. The ‘New York’ rapper said “No, and you’ll see that in about a week when I release a new song. You’re gonna be like ‘Woah! Okay wait…"
We’ve waited, and following the release of her cover of Eminem’s classic ‘Cleaning Out My Closet’, all became clear. The track hears Angel discuss her childhood and the abuse that she suffered in a startlingly honest capacity.
The femcee told us of her decision to be so honest to the world: “For me, it’s really important to be honest because if you’re selfish with your truth you’re also selfish with the light you can present to another person.
“It’s always important to be honest about everything, because people in the world are going through exactly what I went through like, three days ago… It’s always about being honest so that people know that they’re not alone in the world.”
