Azealia Banks: “I’M Done With Hip-Hop...”
Azealia Banks was allegedly due to hit the studio with the queen of rap, Lil Kim, until their relationship reportedly became rocky over song writing issues. The Harlem-bred '212' rapper said that "Lil Kim got mad that I wrote a verse for her on a record I wanted her on," before adding on Twitter: "Everyone knows Lil Kim doesn't write her own raps and I saw this as a faster more efficient way of getting the track done..."
Kim was apparently offended by the young artist writing a rap for her, which led to Kim’s assistant allegedly sending Azealia an "offensive email" stating that she doesn’t need help writing verses. Banks didn’t keep the email private, continuing her rant on Twitter and ending it by saying: "Keep closing your own doors, ma."
Whilst Kim’s publicist denied all the claims, Azealia has decided that she has had enough of the hip-hop world, seeing as she this isn’t the first altercation she has had with a rap peer – she has also squabbled with T.I. recently.
The 20-year-old tweeted: "I love how y'all are saying I'm out of line for insulting T.I. when he DEF came at MY head first. I didn't say ANYTHING to Kim until her Lil bum a** management released a press release about a beef that doesn't exist. Lol. I'm done with hip-hop. I don't want to be a part of it...At all."
Azealia then quickly backtracked her severe statement by saying: "Lol. I'm not gonna stop making hip-hop music. I’m just done trying to impress the older generation."
