Beyoncé Drops Surprise New Album On Itunes
It’s official, Beyonce plays by her own rules. The 32-year-old pop behemoth surprised fans by dropping a new self-titled fifth album on iTunes, much to the delight of her adoring Bey Hive – who have been eagerly anticipating new material from the diva since she announced her post-partum comeback in late 2012…
After recently unveiling another leg of her successful ‘Mrs Carter Tour’’, King Bey decided to make Friday 13th a lucky one for fans. According to The Huffington Post the project - consisting of 14 songs and 17 videos - which features appearances from Jay-Z, Drake and Frank Ocean appeared silently on iTunes and has already caused a commotion online.
However the most surprising contributor to the album is daughter Blue Ivy, who famously made her music debut on Jay Z’s ‘Mercy’ at just two days old. Speaking on the release, Beyonce said: “I didn’t want to release my music the way I’ve done it,"
“I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There’s so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn’t want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and be from me to my fans.”
Noticeably absent are the previously teased tracks "Standing in the Sun" and "Grown Woman".
