Beyonce Sings Us National Anthem Again To Address Lip-Synching Controversy
Beyonce had the great honour of performing the US national anthem at president Obama’s inauguration last month, however, her beautiful performance was surrounded by controversy as it was rumoured the superstar was lip-synching. B took to the Super Bowl press conference to clear up the rumours. The singer took to the stage before asking members of the audience to stand. She then sang the national anthem again, very clearly live, before asking ‘any questions?’
The 31-year-old then went on to admit that she did sing over a backing track at the ceremony for the president, but explained why: "I am a perfectionist. I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra [at the inauguration]. It was a live television show and a very important moment for me.
"Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking the risk... so I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry. And I'm very proud of my performance."
The singer is set to perform at the Super Bowl, and when questioned on whether that would be pre-recorded, she stated. "I always sing live."
