Beyoncé To Sample Slick Rick And Doug E. Fresh In Collaboration With Andre 3000
Beyoncé will pay tribute to hip-hop legends Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh on her forthcoming album, ‘4’, by sampling ‘La Di Da Di’ - which was a hit for the pair in 1985. Beyoncé’s interpretation of the song comes in the form of a newly-penned track called, ‘Party’, which sees André 3000 return from his hiatus to feature alongside the R&B diva...
‘La Di Da Di’ won’t be the only sample used by Mrs Jay-Z on her fourth solo album. Some readers of The Wrap Up will have noticed that ‘Pon De Floor’ by Major Lazer was sampled on the lead single from ‘4’, ‘Run The World (Girls.)’ Boyz II Men’s slushy ballad, ‘Uhh Ahh’, has also been used on an album track called, ‘Countdown.’
Despite achieving so much success as a solo artist, Beyoncé is taking nothing for granted on ‘4’ and has called on the services of industry heavyweights Ryan Tedder, Diane Warren, Ester Dean and Frank Ocean to assist with production and songwriting duties.
Bey has pulled out all the stops in the hope that she can maintain her proud record of seeing every one of her solo albums reach No. 1 in the US Billboard 200 chart.
