Beyoncé's Baby Announcement Breaks Record
A superstar-gene infused embryo has made itself at home in hip-hop queen Beyoncé’s (once) incredibly toned belly. Making the announcement following her performance of ‘Love On Top’ at Sunday’s MTV VMAs, the news ignited frenzy beginning with Jay-Z’s beaming face and Kanye West’s excited jumping around, and culminating in Twitter and MTV records being broken…
According to Twitter, news of baby Carter set a new record on the microblogging service, with 8,868 tweets per second. This beat the previous record set in July of 7,196 tweets per second when the US women’s football team took on Japan.
MTV must also have been pleased with the surprise announcement, which helped its 28th annual show achieve a gold rating, with a total of 12.4 million viewers, making it the most watched VMAs in the networks history.
