Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera And Leona Lewis Added To Line-Up For Michael Jackson Tribute Concert
The line-up for the Michael Jackson tribute concert, ‘Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert’, is taking shape as Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Leona Lewis have confirmed their attendance at the concert, which will take place on October 8 at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium...
Jackson’s former Motown label mate, Smokey Robinson, was already confirmed on the line-up alongside JLS, Alien Ant Farm, and Craig David – who once performed a sensational cover version of MJ’s ‘Human Nature’ on a French television programme.
The show has been sanctioned by Michael’s mother, Katherine, and the event will have a strong Jackson family presence as Michael’s brothers and his nephews’ band, 3T, will also be taking to the stage. 3T are the sons of Tito Jackson and had a few UK hits in the mid 1990s, including a track called, ‘Anything’.
All performers have been asked to perform one or two of their favourite Michael Jackson songs and the event is sure to be a sell-out. The Millennium Stadium holds 75,000 people and demand for tickets is sure to exceed the number of available tickets, so a ballot has been arranged for people wanting to attend to register their interest. For an event of this magnitude, tickets won’t come cheaply. Ticket prices start at a hefty £55 for a restricted view.
More acts will be confirmed to the line-up as the event draws nearer and the Internet is awash with rumours that Chris Brown, Jay-Z and Kanye Westhave been invited to perform at the concert. Although their participation at the event has not been confirmed.
