Chase & Status Unveil Part 1 of Their ‘London Bars’ Project
Before the release of their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Chase & Status have returned with a brand new project entitled London Bars. Having worked with the likes of Tempa T, Dizzee Rascal and Kano in the past, London Bars sees the duo once again join forces with some of the biggest rhymers from the UK scene.
The first track they’ve shared from the project is ‘Funny’, which features Boy Better Know MC Frisco. The beat is an electronically fuelled injection of hard-hitting classic Grime and with Frisco’s skippy flow laced over the top, the track is a hugely impressive first glimpse into the new project. With BBK’s stock and mass appeal consistently on the rise, it’s a shrewd move by Chase & Status to recruit Frisco and with the end of the video alluding to Peckham rapper Giggs appearing on the project next, it seems Chase & Status really have selected some of the scene’s best to feature.
Talking about the project being released under their own label MTA Records, the duo were quoted as saying, “London Bars is a project we're very passionate about. It showcases some of the most exciting MC's to emerge out of the UK and it was a real privilege to work with legends and rising stars alike”
After performing at festivals and shows throughout the summer as part of Red Bull Culture Clash winning collective Rebel Sound, alongside David Rodigan, Shy FX and Rage, it’s great to see Chase and Status back doing what they do best; creating powerful, insanely addictive, UK music and getting everyone hyped.
