Dappy Apologises For Killer Tribute In ‘Tarzan 2’ Video
When Dappy released ‘Tarzan 2 (I’m Coming)’ earlier in the week, he upset many celebrities, including Tulisa, Simon Cowell, Alexandra Burke and a list of others. However, the singer and rapper has caused EVEN more outrage when it was found that he had included a tribute message to a jailed murder in the video…
At the beginning of his track a disclaimer is shown before the words "Free Leo Chindamo" appear on the screen. In 1995, Chindamo murdered a teacher outside his school when he was just 15-years-old. The offender was released after spending over a decade in jail, yet was swiftly taken back to prison following his release after an alleged mugging.
The 31-year-old is due out of jail next year.
The head teacher’s widow Frances told The Sun: "I haven’t heard the song yet. But I don’t think it is right someone should be making money from using his name in a song."
Dappy took to Twitter to claim he did not know that was his friends crime, writing: "Just wanted to say I honestly wasn't aware he did that, I knew his brother from when I was young.
"In no way did I intend to cause any upset and certainly didn't know about his past. My heart goes out to Mr Laurence's family and I know the pain of losing a loved one, sincerely Daps."
