Delilah: 'i Didn't Expect A Brit Award'
Despite very much making her mark on the music scene last year, British singer Delilah has revealed that she "didn't expect" to get any nominations at this year's BRIT awards. The 'Inside My Love' star admitted that she was "disappointed" with the outcome but thanked fans for helping her to be considered…
In a recent interview with the Metro she said: "I didn’t really expect one [BRIT], to be honest. I haven’t done any of the major TV shows yet I still had a top five album, so things have grown organically. My contemporaries have done these big shows and I haven’t, so it’s a credit to my fans that I was even considered."
While speaking about the follow up to successful debut 'From The Roots Up', the north Londoner promised her following that there will be "more energy" and "variety" in her new music.
"It’s [her next album] got more energy. It comes from me touring and thinking: ‘This is the part where I want to dance around but I can’t.’ I managed to get round that in the gigs by doing covers and remixes of my songs but most of the stuff on the first album was mid-tempo, dark, experimental pop, which I love."
The Brit Awards will be held at The O2, London, on Feb 20, and is rumoured to include a special performance from Beyonce, who will make history by becoming the first international star to perform at the British music ceremony.
