Dmx Set For Extended Jail Sentence
DMX is expected to spend at least another week in prison after allegedly being caught with drugs by authorities on site. The 40-year-old – whose most notable track to date was his 1999 hit, ‘Party Up (Up In Here)’ – now has to wait until at least July 19 before he gets a chance to leave the state prison in Yuma, Arizona...
His lawyer, Gary Jenkins, told MTV News US that the rapper's reported refusal to take a mandatory drug test had resulted in the seven-day hold, but he remained confident that his client would get the help he needed to work on his drug addiction.
According to TMZ, DMX had broken a number of rules over the past month, including drug possession, failing or refusing a drug test, smoking in an unauthorized area, acting disrespectfully to the staff and engaging in disorderly or disruptive conduct. He was sent back to prison in December for a probation violation after an arrest in November for failing to check in with his probation officer.
Meanwhile, plans for DMX to drop his new single, 'Y'all Don't Know' featuring Busta Rhymes, are still on track for release within the next two to three weeks.
