Drake And Jay-Z To Feature On New Lenny Kravitz Album
Lenny Kravitz has signed up two of rap’s biggest artists to feature on his new rock album, ‘Black And White America’, which is due for release on August 30. The album will see Kravitz collaborate with Drake and Jay-Z. Drake will feature on a co-written track by Kravitz and Swizz Beatz called, 'Sunflower'...
Kravitz told Billboard that Drake didn’t need to think twice about guesting on his album: "I got on the phone with Drake for ['Sunflower'] before he had even heard the track and he said, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it. I’m a fan and I love your work and I would love to be on it.’ So that was cool."
Jay-Z’s guesting slot will be on a track called ‘Boongie Drop’, and it won’t be the first time that the Brooklyn rapper has worked alongside Kravitz. Jigga boasts a proud history of working alongside rock acts and in 2004 he famously released, ‘Collision Course’, a joint album with Linkin Park which sold more than five million copies worldwide.
Kravitz revealed that soon after writing ‘Boongie Drop’ he realised there was room for a rapper to feature and Jay-Z was the only man for the job: "When I wrote ‘Boongie Drop’, I heard a rap in the middle and I immediately heard Jay’s voice and we had collaborated twice before, so I called him and when I went to New York, I put him on the track."
