Ed Sheeran: ‘Internet Has Destroyed The Genre Barrier... It's A Good Thing'
Ed Sheeran has been causing a storm in America; his debut album ‘+’ reached no.5 in the official Billboard chart, he toured alongside the Snow Patrol and his first headline US tour sold-out quicker than hot cakes. The 21-year-old spoke to MTV Buzzworthy about his newly found American success, saying: "It's quite nice that the U.S. fans are involved and want to come to the shows…”
He also spoke of his sound, letting US listeners in on what to expect: "My music is a mixture of a lot of acoustic music - of folk, hip-hop, soul."
He then spoke of the turn that popular culture has taken following the rise of musicians gaining fame from the internet: "I think YouTube has destroyed the genre barrier. People can be into Justin Bieber and Eminem at the same time. It's a good thing."
