Fresh: Lukas Freeman – ‘Rough Love’
London native Lukas Freeman is back with his brand new EP Rough Love. First emerging onto the music scene as a member of grime collective PMR, Lukas is eager to show the world his versatility with his latest body of work which is a rapid departure from his grime days…
Rough Love is a collection of tracks fusing R&B, heartfelt lyrics and twisted electronic beats. The lead track ‘Weep’ sees the 25-year-old crooning on the poetic track whilst reminding listeners of his days as a grime MC. Raw emotion pulses through the track, as Freeman discusses the trials and tribulations affecting his love life over stylish minimal hip-hop drums, subtle synths and indie electronica influences.
Discussing his transition into R&B, Lukas explains: “I was a grime MC on radio when I was 16 … Quickly realising ‘I don’t want to be that guy, because no proper girls like those guys’, I got more into photography, culture, and fashion.”
