Game Explains His Dislike For Jay-Z
After regularly taking shots at Jay-Z, most recently on 'Uncle Otis', Game has finally revealed that his dislike for the Roc Nation boss stems from the first time he met Jigga seven years ago...
During a radio interview with Power 106’s Big Boi, Game was asked by the host if he had a problem with Jay-Z and the rapper admitted he does have an issue with Jigga, which stems from the first time the pair met at the 40/40 club seven years ago…
During that night in 2004, Game asked what Hov’s secret to staying relevant was and he was unimpressed with Jay’s response. The Compton rapper was adamant that he wouldn’t tell Big Boi what Jay-Z had said to him, and refused to answer the host’s question regarding the issue.
But after the radio host pushed Game to reveal what happened, he relented and agreed to write down on a piece of paper what Jigga had said and gave Big Boi permission to read out on-air what he had just written.
The note revealed that Jigga wasn’t impressed with Game’s credentials and told a young and eager to learn Game: 2Most of you new rappers won’t last long, anyway. Maybe you should think of another lane."
Game, whose 'The R.E.D. Album' was released this week, then explained things further: "I think that’s where my short-lived hatred came from. Yeah, man. I grew up off of all Jay’s albums, and when I finally met him and he was just, I don’t know, he was overly cocky. I’m not saying it to say he’s the same person now – that was like seven years ago – this is my own personal experience, so it’s not to make anyone hate Jay-Z."
