Game Looks To Build On The Momentum Of 'r.e.d. Album' With Release Of Video Footage And Book
Game’s 'R.E.D. Album' looks certain to feature prominently when the US chart rundown is announced later today, and the Compton rapper is looking to build on the commercial success of his new album by offering fans an intriguing insight into the making of the album. Game has released his first book, 'The Making Of Game’s R.E.D. Album', which chronicles the story of how the album was created and where the inspiration behind the lyrics stemmed from...
He’s also released video footage online of the making of the album, which sees Game in the studio alongside the majority of his all-star cast of guest features including, Dr. Dre, Drake, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Queen Latifah and producers Cool N Dre.
The book is available in digital formats now and will be released in paperback form soon. It was co-written by respected hip-hop journalist, Soren Baker, who has previously worked alongside Game’s nemesis, Jay-Z.
The book features the intricate story behind ‘R.E.D. Album’ and points of interest include the extensive work Game did alongside Dr. Dre and the story behind the controversial lead single, 'Red Nation', which was banned by many music outlets due to its alleged praise of gang violence.
Game issued a press release to explain his decision to release a book: "I wanted to give my fans a behind-the-scenes look of how my new album came to be. These are my stories in my own words. This book is the only place where you'll learn all the stories behind the music - how I got the beats, what inspired the lyrics and how the album was put together."
Game isn’t the first rapper to attempt to top the book charts and he will be hoping that ‘The Making Of Game’s R.E.D. Album’ will be as successful as Jay-Z’s 'Decoded' and 'The Tao Of Wu' by RZA.
