George The Poet Talks Working With Wretch 32
After opening up for him at a show last year, young wordsmith George The Poet has opened up about how working with Wretch 32 has helped shape his career. In a recent interview the 22-year-old, who shares the same management as the star, said being in the XYZee camp along with singer Jacob Banks is a ‘privilege’…
He told Young Voices Magazine [YV]: “I’m so privileged to be working with these people. It’s not like I’m making the best out of whoever I get, this is the crème de la crème. These people are so good, these people are pioneers and it’s an honour. Whenever I hear them or they share new stuff with me, that’s inspiration for me.”
Wretch recently took to Twitter to commend the poet for his performance at sold-out Royal Albert Hall one-man show on Jan 14.
He wrote: "George the poet is making my eyes water "royal albert hall" #renowned."
Despite making fans out of celebrities George admitted that his parents don't mind giving him candid constructive criticism.
He told YV: “My parents were there [at the show], which made me more nervous. One of the best things about performing is that you’re talking to people that you don’t know. My mum is too real [when it comes to constructive criticism], she’ll be like, ‘don’t you think you should’ve got a haircut? Don’t you think that shirt is too tight?’”
