It's Officially On: Drake Vs Common
Drake and Common have been sniping at each other for many weeks now, with Common releasing the track 'Sweet', supposedly aimed at the Canadian rapper/singer. Drake eventually responded with a stream of indirect lyrics on Rick Ross' track, 'Stay Schemin'...
He said on the track: "I just ask that when you see me, you speak up n***a that’s all/Don’t be ducking like you never wanted nothing. It’s feeling like rap changed, it was a time it was rugged/Back when if a n***a reached it was for the weapon, nowadays n***a’s reach just to sell they record."
Most of the public agreed that Drake put it down and we all assumed that would be that. However, not one to mince his words, Common speedily responded. So there was no confusion as to whether it was an indirect diss, he fired back over the 'Stay Schemin' instrumental and even mentions the Young Money star’s name.
It goes a little something like this: "Don’t do it/cuz every song you make Joe is really h-e music/I heard you say you wasn’t a b***h cuz you sing/ you a b***h cuz you cling like a b***h that’s 18/ can’t say my name but rap about a n***a’s wife/you so black and white/ trying to live a n***a’s life/I’m taking a too long with this amateur guy/You ain’t wettin’ nobody n***a, you Canada Dry. Make no mistake/I’m talking to Drake..."
Is Common just craving attention, or is this rant justified? When will this fiasco be over? And who is your money on?
