J. Cole Promises Fans His Debut Album Will Be Released ‘No Later Than September’
Over the last eight months, fans of Roc Nation’s J. Cole have grown increasingly frustrated as the release date for the rapper’s debut album has been the subject of several delays. It now appears that J. Cole is as eager to see his album hit shop shelves, as his fans are. Over the weekend, J.Cole told Detroit News that his album will be released before the end of September...
With no release date confirmed, Cole is as reluctant as ever to announce the title for the album, but he insisted that his debut will be released “absolutely no later than September.”
Cole’s debut was originally due to be released last October, but the release date was postponed due to the rapper not receiving the relevant clearance, which is required for him to use samples of other artists' tracks on his album, in time.
Cole confidently described the album as “gold” and he believes that the long wait will be worth it: “I'm trying to find ways to word it without sounding overly egotistical, and I want to remain humble, but also let people know it's actually (really) incredible. I'm sitting on gold, man. I don't wanna speak it up too much but I'm super confident in it. I'm super proud."
