Jackson Family Release Statement Stating They Will ‘Carry Out The Wishes Of Michael’
The Jackson family continue to make headlines this weekend after weeks of highly-publicised disputes within the family over the validity of the Will of Michael Jackson, along with the guardianship of his three children. Janet Jackson broke her silence on the situation through a statement released late Friday from her attorney, Blair G Brown...
The statement serves on behalf of herself and siblings Randy and Rebbie Jackson and claims the executors of Michael Jackson's Will are causing harm by damaging "fundamental family relationships". The statement also accuses executors John Branca and John McClain of isolating matriarch Katherine Jackson from anyone questioning the validity of Michael's Will, according to The Daily Mail.
TJ Jackson, a cousin to the three children of Michael Jackson, was named as their co-guardian by a judge on Thursday. He shares co-guardianship with the late singer's mother Katherine Jackson, who was named their sole caretaker in the disputed will.
In the statement, Janet, Rebbie and Randy continue to contest the will of their late brother, as "the executors have never explained how Michael could have signed his will in California on a date that irrefutable evidence establishes that he was in New York."
Representatives for executors John Branca and John McClain released a statement some weeks ago saying: "Any doubts about the validity of Michael's will and his selection of Executors were thoroughly and completely debunked two years ago when a challenge was rejected by the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the California Court of Appeals and, finally, the California Supreme Court."
The three siblings say that they will continue to contest Michael Jackson's will. "They stand nothing to gain financially by a finding that the will is invalid." they added. "The individuals who have the most to lose by a finding that the will is invalid are, of course, the executors and those on the executors' payroll."
Janet, Rebbie and Randy say they will continue with their search for the truth, in order to "carry out the wishes of their brother Michael."
