Jay-Z Bigs Up J. Cole For Grammy Nomination
Jay-Z has been praising his protégé, J. Cole, insisting that the new Roc Nation artist is a sure thing to win the Best New Artist award at next year's Grammy's. Jay told MTV News US: "I think it's great for him, because I'm sure it's a dream of his..."
He continued: "We grew up seeing Michael Jackson, and I'm sure he grew up seeing whatever moment stuck in his mind, so I know it's great for him to do that. I think he's already won 'Best New Artist', to me. His journey is what I'm really excited about."
The music mogul also commented on J. Cole’s evolution in the game: "The person he is today is not who he was when he first walked in. He got a chance to really go out, see what worked, see what people connect to, figure out how he was gonna tell his story."
It seems J. Cole really is becoming a big figure in the music biz, as haters come out of the wood work, or rather just rapper, Canibus - who made the diss track, 'J. Clone'. After fans reacted badly, he put a statement online just 48 hours later apologising, calling the diss "tacky."
