Jay-Z Covers Time Magazine As One Of The Most ‘Influential People In The World’
Jay-Z was one of the seven public figures who recently featured on Time’s front cover; the latest edition announced their annual list of the ‘The 100 Most Influential People’ which saw seven covers be released. Jay fronted one of them and his accomplishments were noted in the publication by New York City’s Mayor Bloomberg…
The mayor said of Jay: “Jay-Z embodies so much of what makes New York New York. A kid from a tough neighbourhood who grows up in public housing, overcomes lots of bad influences on the street, never lets go of his dream, makes it to the top — and then keeps going, pursuing new outlets for his creativity and ambition.”
Beyonce was also featured on the list, alongside Miguel, Justin Timberlake and many others.
Frank Ocean was on the list, and his musical peer John Legend wrote of the ‘Lost’ singer: “I think Frank’s career will be defined by his fearlessness and his artistic freedom. He has the talent, the ability and the brilliance to have an impact for a long time. He will follow his muse wherever it goes — he’s not the kind of artist to adhere to everyone else’s schedule. That’s what makes him special.”
The UK’s Kate Middleton also featured on the list, and Michael Kors, the co-founder of Instagram Kevin Systrom and Barack and Michelle Obama.
