Jennifer Hudson Breaks Down While Testifying Against Family’S Murderer
Jennifer Hudson was recently called to the witness box to testify against William Balfour, who is being charged for the murder of her family members in 2008. The Oscar-winning star, who was the first witness called by the prosecuting counsel, broke into tears when she was told to recount her family's last days and to tell when last she had seen them – which was a day before the fatal incident...
She said in court: "It was my mother, my brother, my sister and my dog. I was so surprised! The whole family is here. That was the last time I saw them. Thank God I had the opportunity. I told her over and over again not to marry him. We did not like the way he treated her."
Sources say that the 'Think Like A Man' singer broke down again when the prosecutor handed her a photograph of her mother and she told the jurors that the family was not in support of Julia's union to Balfour and kept a considerable distance from him.
Jennifer Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, 57, her brother, Jason Hudson, 29, and her nephew, Julian King, 7, was murdered in October of 2008 and Balfour is being charged with first degree murder, home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, residential burglary and posession of a stolen motor vehicle. He has pleaded not guilty on all charges.
