Jessie J Has Bone Transplant
Jessie J has revealed the severity of her ankle injury, which has forced her to cancel many performances this summer, and explained that it is in fact, "worse than people thought." The 'Do It Like A Dude' singer, who broke her ankle months ago, confessed to ignoring doctor’s advice by still performing at events this summer, including V Festival, Glastonbury and the MTV VMAs...
It seems Jessie J didn’t realise just how bad her ankle really was because she had to have a bone transplant to have her left ankle reconstructed: "None of my ankle bone is now mine," she told Newsbeat. "I've now had someone else's put in. It's worse than people think it is because I haven't really gone into detail about it."
Jessie J went on to explain that this injury has almost left her suffering in silence, as she’s never been one to complain about it or kick up a fuss: "You're standing and doing signings and you want to cry and you can't, because if you do, then it will be on the news that you've had a breakdown."
However, the 23-year-old has shown that amongst the pain she’s still got a humour and a positive outlook on the situation: "If I can never wear heels again then I'll just have to get some bad boy trainers. It is what it is. I'm fighting. Now I'm getting better. I'm coming back and even harder."
