Kanye West Expresses His Disappointment Over Leaked Track
Earlier this week, ‘Mama’s Boyfriend’ - believed to be recorded by Kanye West - was leaked on the net and was met with a largely positive response from hip-hop fans. However, representatives of Mr West have released a statement explaining that the leaked song is “entirely bogus and unsanctioned.” The leaked track is not official, because it does not sound anything like the way Yeezy wanted the final version to sound....
It is believed that Kanye’s vocals from a demo version of the intended track were stolen and placed on another beat from a completely different track. Yeezy will be pursuing legal action against the party or parties who leaked the track.
The full statement, released on behalf of Kanye West, said: "The version of the Kanye West recording, 'Mama’s Boyfriend', that arrived on blog sites earlier this week is entirely bogus and unsanctioned, and violates the creative intentions of the artist. As is often the unfortunate case, an unknown party or parties got a hold of Kanye West’s vocal track and added their own soundbed to it, effectively and falsely releasing it as a Kanye West track from the 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' sessions.
"The result in no way resembles the final song Kanye West intended his fans to hear, and he is deeply disappointed that one of the most personal, meaningful and special songs he has ever written would reach people in this way. Needless to say, measures are being taken to identify and prosecute the persons responsible for leaking this material."
