Kelly Rowland: "i Am So Excited To Join 'the X Factor'..."
What a week it has been for Kelly Rowland. As if a trip to Miami to celebrate the Memorial Day national holiday wasn’t enough, the former Destiny’s Child member has seen her collaboration with Lil Wayne, ‘Motivation’, grab the No.1 slot on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and she has managed to land one of the most sought-after jobs in the UK – a judging role on ITV1’s ‘The X Factor’...
Rowland celebrated her incredible week by soaking up the rays on a sun-kissed beach in Miami, Florida. She was determined to make the most of her brief holiday, as the second half of 2011 will see her predominantly based in the UK for her judging duties.
Miss Kelly will be present at ‘The X Factor’ auditions in Birmingham later today and she can’t wait to get started: “I am so excited to join ‘The X Factor’ and be able to spend time in one of my favourite places in the world.”
The Texas-born diva also spoke glowingly about the current UK music scene: “The music coming out of the UK right now is incredible, with artists like Adele, Jessie J and James Blake, so I’m confident this season of ‘The X Factor’ will give me an opportunity to hear a few diamonds in the rough.”
As revealed on The Wrap Up yesterday, Rowland will appear on ‘The X Factor’ panel alongside Louis Walsh, Take That’s Gary Barlow and N-Dubz
The presence of Kelly Rowland and Tulisa on the panel will undoubtedly whet the appetite of UK urban music fans, who believe that having two of urban music’s most successful women on the panel signals a change in strategy for the show and that the show could unearth the next big urban star.
