Kendrick Lamar And Lady Gaga Collaboration Pulled Over Creative Differences
Kendrick Lamar's 'Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City' was made available for pre-order on iTunes, but some fans were surprised to see that the track-listing was revealed without the highly anticipated Lady Gaga feature. The track is said to be titled 'Partynauseous' and was expected to be featured on the Aftermath signee's album, Gaga herself confirmed…
Yesterday morning Lamar appeared on The Breakfast Club in order to promote the release of his forthcoming album and revealed the reasons why the collaboration wasn't included. "Me and Lady Gaga, we really good friends. She's not on the album. We got some records, but when I was breaking down the bulk of the album, the ones we picked, we set them aside for future reference."
GaGa also decided to speak on the reasons why the track was left out and blamed it on the direction Kendrick's team wanted to take: “When I collaborate with an artist I work solely with them, not with their camps or management. It’s purely organic and creative. I love Kendrick dearly as a friend, but was not willing to compromise musically to the changes his team was making to my music.
“This is why I am not [on] his record. I have a very specific vision as a producer and songwriter, and I always have. That song will be released at a different time, for a different project. I love you, and think you should check out his stuff because he is truly great. He’s a good kid, its just sometimes a mad city. -LG"
You can pre-order ‘Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City’ on iTunes now; the album will be made available on October 22 and features Dr. Dre, Drake, Mary J. Blige and others.
