The three-day event brought out a host of hip-hops finest, with hundreds of fans descending on New York’s Barclays Center excited for the return of hip-hop troupes Wu-Tang Clan and Dipset. The star on the night was undoubtedly ‘Magic Stick’ rapper Lil Kim; who dominated the stage with a theatrical introduction, treating fans to a dazzling montage which included clips of her and Diddy, as well a brief videography.
The pint-sized queen of rap quickly gripped the attention of the audience with a pop at fellow femcee Nicki Minaj, before launching into a slew of her biggest hits and a surprise rendition of the Notorious B.I.G’s ‘Hypnotize’ before wrapping up her set with a remix of Bobby Shmurda’s ‘Hot N***a’.
As aforementioned, fans were treated to performances from reformed rap troupes Dipset and Wu-Tang Clan - who celebrated 21 years in the industry, keeping the crowd on their feet by belting out a medley of nineties and noughties classics. The crew also paid tribute to the late rapper O.D.B, by bringing out his son Y.D.B to deliver a groundshaking performance of the rap classic, 'Shimmy Shimmy Ya'.
