Mariah Carey And Nick Cannon Reveal Baby Names
After teasing baby names on Twitter, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have finally revealed the names of their new-born twin babies. Like most celebrities, these two haven’t disappointed when it comes to naming their new arrivals…
Making the announcement on Mariah's official website, the couple have named their son, Moroccan Scott Cannon. This was inspired by the country where Nick Cannon proposed to the singer along with the top tier of Mariah’s New York City apartment, which is decorated in a Moroccan theme. Scott was chosen as it is Nick’s middle name and also his grandmother’s maiden name.
Their daughter is called Monroe Cannon, named after the famous Hollywood actress, Marilyn Monroe, who Mariah has always admired. Sticking with the ‘M’ theme, I thought would have called her daughter Melissa, a name I’ve always liked, personally, but I guess nicknaming her twins Roc and Roe goes better.
Talking to CNN, Mariah’s representative, Cindi Berger, said: "It has been a long, emotional journey for this family, and I couldn’t be happier for all of them."
Mariah, 40, gave birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe on April 30 in Los Angeles, the same day as the couple’s fourth wedding anniversary. To mark the occasion, Mariah and Nick renewed their vows in the hospital which was conducted by Rev. Al Sharpton.
Now all that is left for the Carey-Cannons to do is to release official pictures of their twins.
