Megaman Discusses The Return Of So Solid Crew
With 11 Top 10 hits and three no.1 singles, So Solid Crew were the pioneers of modern urban music in the UK as we knew it. After an extended hiatus, So Solid returned to the stage with their sold out performance at the Indigo2 in March this year, while their new single 'UK Hot Wid It' is due for release on September 16, before a ‘Best Of’ album follows…
When The Wrap Up caught up with Megaman to find out why there was a wait for new material, the founding member stated: "We've been reforming in business really, adjusting with the new system. The performance was stress; I never get to enjoy it like the lads but that's my job, I play my role."
He went on to reveal that the reunion was "inevitable due to the public's demand for it after the Skepta feature.” The crew’s new single 'UK Hot Wid It' speaks for itself – “we are UK and rep UK only. Give us a break, you can't deny who we are. Solid Soul.”
When pressed on his favourite hit that made them a household name, Mega says: "I like them all even more today than I did then. Oxide & Neutrino though, that was straight garage music."
Mega wrapped the interview up by addressing some rumours about the future of the group.
"The end of this year will be the end of So Solid as you know it. The way So Solid is today with the same faces was not in our plans, it's what the public chose - we need to get back to what we built this for in the first place and that's bringing talent through."
Their new Single 'UK Hot Wid It' will be released on September 16.
