M.i.a Set To Release New Album In December
M.I.A has announced via Twitter that her fourth LP 'Matangi' is set to be released this fall. The album, which follows 2010's '/\/\ /\ Y /\', will come with the release of a book, a documentary and an exhibition. She wrote on the social networking site: “MIA > BOOK, LP, DOCUMENTARY, AND ART EXHIBITION IN DEC!”
M.I.A signed a management deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation earlier this year and has been readying her fourth LP for some time. She doesn’t know how many tracks will make the album and is not planning on any big-name collaborations either. When probed on the possibility of working with Lady Gaga or Nicki Minaj during an impromptu Twitter chat with fans, she revealed: “no collabs! maybe its based on what they stand for. nobody can cross it, only that know can cross it,” adding, “no one in the industry collected blows in the last 3 years as much as me , this is a f**k you to them and a thank you to you.”
In March, M.I.A. announced plans to release an autobiography titled ‘M.I.A’, incorporating previously unreleased photos and testimonies, which is due to be released this autumn. The self-titled book will be published by Rizzoli New York.
