Mothers Against Violence Vs Eminem
He's always rubbing someone up the wrong way, but this time we’re sure that it was totally unexpected and unintentional. Eminem has recently been stamped as "evil" by Mothers Against Violence, an organization that serves inner-city communities of greater Manchester and the surrounding areas in the UK that is taking a stand against his newest music video, 'Space Bound'…
It appears the part that riled them up was the part in the video where Eminem daydreams about choking and killing his cheating girlfriend, played by porn star, Sasha Grey. "People who do this are really quite evil," a spokesperson for MAV told The Daily Mirror. "Children are influenced by the things they see. If we feed violence, it becomes strong. Like an addiction."
MAV also accused Eminem of only thinking about money and not the impact that the video could have on his young fans all over the world: "It’s all about the money with these videos. Eminem isn’t thinking about the families affected. It’s selfish – it comes to a point when selfishness becomes evil."
According to producer Jim Jonsin, Eminem's video is no different than the violence that is seen quite frequently on television and in the movies: "Things happen in movies all the time. People kill themselves, people get killed, they kill other people," Jonsin told MTV.com. "When my kids watch it, I like to explain to them in that manner, 'It's like a movie, ya know? He isn't really killing himself."
Representatives for Eminem have not commented about the video as of press time.
