Nas: ‘Gwyneth Paltrow Is My Homie’
It caused a stir worldwide when actress Gwyneth Paltrow tweeted a picture of herself and a friend whilst at the Watch The Throne tour saying “N****as in Paris for real.” After some spectators were offended by the tweet, Gwyneth attempted to defend herself by tweeting “Hold up. It's the title of the song!" However, singer The Dream decided to step up and defended the actress…
The ‘I Luv Your Girl’ singer told MTV News: "It's one of the biggest songs out, especially [since] Jay and Kanye are two of the biggest rap figures. It's like a catch-22, it's like a trick, like 'Yeah we're gonna say it and we're gonna sell it to you, but you can't really use it and you can't say it.’"
The artist also went on to say he understood what the song meant and how momentous it was for Jay and ‘Ye to perform it 11 times in Paris, saying: “I understand the title of the song, I know what the movement is, and I extremely was touched after they performed in Paris 11 times because I know that's going to affect the culture 10 years from now."
‘The Don’ rapper Nas has also chosen to speak out about the backlash that Paltrow has received, recently telling CBS Local: "I would slap the s**t out of somebody for Gwyneth Paltrow. She's the homie, she's cool. Gwyneth gets a pass. Real people get a pass. We know what this s**t is.”
