Nelly Furtado's Album Sells Less Than 5,000 Copies In The Uk
Nelly Furtado recently released her fifth album ‘The Spirit Indestructible’ on September 14, which features the popular track ‘Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)’. However, the album has not done as well as hoped as it debuted at no.46 before eventually dropping out of the Billboard top 100…
According to Gigwise, the album sold 2,637 copies in the UK in its first week, which in comparison to her last album ‘Loose’ is disappointing as her last offer went to no.1, selling 219,000 copies.
The 33-year-old singer recently spoke about the pressures of celebrity, and according to Contact Music, said: "I never wanted to be a celebrity. I was completely aware that when my first single went crazy this was my big opportunity.
“I was a 21-year-old child who'd come from nothing and I was in this very fast, very crazy world. I was like, 'OK, what happens now?' And there was a sense of, 'Am I going to do something different with my life? What am I going to do?'"
