NEW: Blizzard Adopts A New Sound With His Latest Track 'Moving On'
‘Moving On’ reflects upon the Mancunian’s life over the last few months, with lyrics stating ‘Felt free for the first time in my life, for a while I stayed away from the mic, but no more lazy days I’m on a hype.’ Since the success of 'You Came To Mine feat. Shakka' Blizzard has also released the grime-heavy 'Come At Me Bro' but speaking to The Wrap Up he said:
'The song is about moving on from a bad situation and taking the positives and running with them. I feel like it's a strong return to a full time music career as there were a lot of setbacks in my previous situation, including me.
Now I'm taking things seriously, moving on to a completely new mind state. At the moment I feel its time to let people know what I'm made of. Expect releases online, hopefully letting people know the direction I'm in. Then after that, it's time to finally get that album done.'
The beat (produced by Blizzard himself) carries a more upbeat vibe than his earlier darker more rapid pieces e.g. ‘B L I’. On a whole, this is a refreshing, earnest approach from Blizzard that sees a former rap-battler/grime MC exploring a new music venture, even demonstrating his admiration for Bugzy Malone and Stormzy during the verse.
Listeners are also treated to Blizzard's vocals, something not often heard or known about (unless you've seen him live) but it's a bold attempt, and one that pays off.
