New Book Alleges Amy Winehouse Attempted Suicide Aged 10
New tell-all book ‘Amy Winehouse: The Untold Story’ alleges that the legendary singer first attempted suicide aged just 10-years old. This reportedly came in the wake of her dad leaving her mother for another woman. The books author Chloe Govan claims that the star was so devastated by her parents’ separation that she fell into a spiral of self-harming, even smoking her first spliff at age 10…
“Amy went through a lot of pain at her parents’ separation,” a friend is quoted as saying. “She might have put on a front like she didn’t care but to her, seeing her father leave her for another woman was the ultimate abandonment,” they continued.
“By ten she’d had her first spliff and, in some people’s eyes, was already on a road to ruin.”
The book also alleges that Winehouse was infatuated with the infamous ‘27 Club’ and wanted to be immortalized like Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain.
“Amy always told me she thought she’d die young and that she knew she’d be a member of the 27 Club,” said Alex Fogden, Winehouse’s hairdresser.
“I think she almost needed to die a legend.”
