Nicki Minaj Is The Latest Performer To Pull Out Of V Festival
Nicki Minaj has been forced to cancel her appearance at V Festival this weekend due to voice problems. According to Capital FM, The 'Pink Friday' rapper had been due to headline the second stage at the festival, which takes place over two sites in Stafford and Chelmsford today and August 19. But organisers said that Nicki is unable to travel to the UK as she has lost her voice...
In a statement, they said: "Miss Minaj’s band and crew have all arrived in the UK ahead of the performance at the festival this weekend, however as the artist herself boarded her flight from New York on Friday, August 17, she felt unwell again.
“This is despite having thought she had overcome her vocal chord issues from earlier in the week. Having revisited her doctor she has now been advised to rest for a week, which unfortunately means that she is no longer able to perform at V Festival."
Organisers added that they wished Nicki a "speedy recovery" and revealed that party rocker's LMFAO would take her place on stage this weekend.
UK rapper and former N-Dubz member, Dappy has also cancelled his performance at V Fest this weekend and will be replaced by alternative-rock group, The Charlatans.
The Sun reported that the rapper pulled out of his performance at the festival due to unfinished work on his overdue solo album. Already three weeks late, the rapper faces the risk of it not getting its October 1 release if the project is not completed by Monday.
A source said: “Dappy’s got his record label bosses pulling their hair out because he’s such a perfectionist. This could really muck up his chance for a big Christmas hit though," they said.
“So he’s now cancelled his V appearances and locked himself in the studio until 7am on Monday.”
Frank Ocean was the first artist to pull out of the festival, giving a vague reason but saying he will come to Europe to perform another time 'if we will have him'.
