Nicki Minaj To Have 3-Part Documentary Special On E!
When it was rumoured earlier in the week that Nicki Minaj would be having her own reality series the news came as a bit of a surprise; given the release of her new perfume, role as judge on American Idol and the release of another repackaged album later in the year. However, it has now been confirmed by E! that the rapper will in fact be the focus of three documentary-style specials…
The documentary promises to show never-before-seen footage and a real insight into the Queens rapper’s personal life. Whilst the network are unwilling to share more details, we do have something to compare it to as the artist previously had a special on MTV called ‘My Time Now’ back in 2010.
MTV News caught up the ‘Pound The Alarm’ singer recently, who spoke about her role on American Idol and what inspired her to take the job, saying: "It's a milestone for me; it's a milestone for hip-hop; it's a milestone for young black women.
“Has there ever been a black woman [judging] on the show? This is a show that 20 million people watch, so I feel like we should be represented on that show and I'm very proud of my decision to do it."
