Obama Reacts To Jay-Z And Beyonce's Cuba Trip
US President Barack Obama has brushed off controversy surrounding Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s recent trip to Cuba, saying that the White House 'have better things to do' than worry about the power-couple's vacation. Jay caused a storm when he released track 'Open Letter' which appears to take shots at politicians and even name drops Obama, claiming the President 'cleared' the trip and that he should be 'on the beach' with him...
He raps: "I done turned Havana into Atlanta…Boy from the hood, but got White House clearance."
In reaction to the lyrics, Obama said he had no idea the couple were heading to the island. Speaking to The Today Show he said: "I wasn't familiar that they were taking the trip. My understanding is I think they went through a group that organizes these educational trips down to Cuba. This is not something the White House was involved with…we've got better things to do."
The 2012 Forbes 'highest-paid' celeb-couple, who are reportedly worth $1 billion with combined assets, were recently asked by republican politicians to give 'more information' on the trip.
Meanwhile, B has teamed up with MasterCard to create 'BeyStage' for her Mrs Carter world tour. The VIP package offers her fans a chance to get the best seats in the venue at her up-coming shows in the UK and a host of other goodies.
