Plan B And Emi Team Up On New Venture
Ben Drew, most commonly known as Plan B, has teamed up with EMI Music Publishing to launch a joint venture entitled Temperamental Music. The rapper, singer, songwriter, actor and film director will now also be overseeing the signing and development of songwriters to the new company. EMI will look after the sync, licensing and global administration...
"I feel I can help raw young musicians, planting some positive seeds in their head, help them progress," he told Music Week of the venture – which partly fulfils an ambition he’s had since he was a child, that of having his own record label and music publishing company.
Guy Moot, EMI Music Publishing’s UK President, said: "You have to have a huge amount of respect for all that Ben he has achieved not just as an artist but as a writer in the last five years. He knows what it takes to become a successful writer, and he recognises real talent when he sees it.
"He will bring the same strong creative vision to his publishing company that he brings to everything he else he does, and we at EMI Music Publishing are looking forward to building this new long-term relationship with him to maximise the opportunity for the writers he signs to have their music heard on a global platform."
