Plan B: “I’Ll Win Them Back…”
After leaving his hip-hop roots to go soul on 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks' album, Plan B reckons that he will win over his new soul fans who aren’t really feeling his recent return to hip-hop. Plan B believes that his new offering, 'iLL Manors', will have enough pulling power to capture his new audience...
He recently told The Star: "If you bought my last album and sung my praises, how can you just switch on me? That says more about you than me. But I'll win them back. I said that about my rap fans after the first album and I did. Same goes for this lot."
Plan B, real name Ben Drew, said that he wants to make a positive influence after last summer's riots: "If anybody wants to talk to me to discuss how we can change the issue, I'm ready. I don't think I can bring out a record like this and not try and really change things. If money is good for one thing it's making other people happy."
The Londoner also told NME Magazine: "When the riots happened, I was so upset. The only people I cared about was the kids. I thought, 'Ah, for f**k's sake! You've just made things 10 times harder for yourselves. Society? David Cameron? You've just played right into their hands. You've just proved everything they've been saying'."
