Plan B Secures £3M Publishing Deal And Reveals Album Details
Rapper Plan B has reportedly secured a £3 million pound publishing deal through EMI. According to Newstalk 106fm, the deal will secure the rapper an advance of £1 million, excluding earnings from the release of his upcoming album ‘Ill Manors’ and film of the same name…
The deal is alleged to have come about following the huge success of Drew’s previous album ‘The Defamation of Strickland Banks’ - a source said to The Sun: “There aren’t many artists who get these kind of offers nowadays but his success with ‘Strickland Banks’ has earned him kudos.”
They added: "He'd just got out of an old publishing deal and EMI had been trying to get him to sign on with them for ages. It comes on top of a joint venture he launched earlier this year with EMI which will see him scout for new writing talent."
Earlier in the year, Plan B and EMI teamed up to launch the joint venture ‘Temperamental Music’ – a publishing company which put him in control of signing and developing new songwriters.
‘Ill Manors – Original Soundtrack Album’ is set for release on July 23 through Atlantic Records and features collaborations from artists such as Labrinth, Kano, John Cooper Clarke and Takura Tendayi.
