Professor Green On Frank Ocean’S Bisexual Revelation: ‘Is Hip-Hop Mature Enough To Deal With It?’
Since Frank Ocean took a supremely brave step out of the bisexual closet, anyone and everyone has been sharing their thoughts on his admittal and the state of the genre he associates himself with. Professor Green was the most recent celeb to weigh in with his thoughts, questioning if the genre is adult enough to deal with his honesty…
As one of the first hip-hop and R&B artists to come out the proverbial closet, many have hailed his frankness as a breakthrough for hip-hop music. But Professor Green recently took to his Twitter to express his doubts, writing: “Is hip-hop adult enough to deal with frank oceans honesty?”
He added: “It’s a weird genre really, often less about the music and more about the bravado and image.”
Will the genre be able to see past Ocean’s sexuality and focus on the music? So far the support does appear to be mainly positive, but the release of his debut album ‘Channel Orange’ on July 17 will be sure to straighten things out either way.
