Rihanna Sues Former Accountants Over 'loss Of Millions'
Rihanna is back in the headlines! The 'Where Have You Been' singer has launched a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages against New York-based Berdon LLP and two accountants after claiming that they lost her millions in earnings…
Rihanna filed the lawsuit on July 5 against her ex-accountants for bad bookkeeping, an on-going audit by the IRS and failing to provide her with the advice to cut down on her expenses as she struggled on her 2009 tour.
The problems stem from the singer's 2009 'Last Girl On Earth' tour, which incurred a significant loss, despite healthy ticket sales. The AP reported that during that tour her ex-accountants pocketed 22% of the tours earnings whilst Rihanna was handed a measly 6%!
This isn't the first time the Bajan songstress has had problems regarding money and big firms - only last year the singer sued a Los Angeles real estate company over the purchase of a multi-million dollar home, claiming that it was structurally inadequate.
A Berdon LLP spokeswoman said the company had no immediate comment.
Meanwhile the 24-year old is claimed to be in good spirits even though she is still mourning the death of her beloved Gran Gran Dolly. The star recently attended her Grandma's wake and scrapped her busy schedule to spend time with her family. Rihanna tweeted: "Dry cry, even tears... Even my heart cried but who cares?!"
Rihanna headlines on Sunday at this weekend's Wireless Festival in London's Hyde Park.
