Rita Ora Talks ‘Partying And Bulls**t’
Rita Ora spoke to MTV News recently to promote her first single over the pond, 'How We Do (Party)'. Speaking of the colourful video, Jay-Z’s latest protégé told of how she decided to release two different singles in the States so that she could cater to everyone. Talking of the video for her first US single, Rita said: "It's basically a big party with no judgment..."
She continued: "There's a whole bunch of people in there, from a guy who's got knickers on and who's coloured in paint on his chest, to an old man kind of shaking his hips around. It's definitely about embracing anyone who wants to come to a party."
She also revealed that Notorious B.I.G. is a big influence in her material, which is why she included a sample of his song, 'Party and Bulls**t', in her track written by Kelly Sheehan and Bonnie McKee. She said of her inspiration: "I am a huge Notorious B.I.G. fan and I loved his Coogi sweaters! I actually found one for £10 in a village shop back home.”
The rising star has also spoken of her forthcoming album, giving us a vague idea of what to expect: "It definitely has pop in it, but you can hear influences of jazz in there, you can hear influences of Monica and Aaliyah, and then you can hear Gwen Stefani."
